About Lisa Henton
Lisa is in her final year at Denver Seminary, pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Before entering the counseling field, she and her husband pastored a small church on the Oregon Coast. It was in that role that Lisa discovered a deep need—people were longing for help and healing, and she realized she wanted to be better equipped to offer it. This calling led her to pursue formal training as a clinical mental health counselor.
Lisa is passionate about the integration of body, mind, spirit, and relationships in the healing process. Having walked through her own journey of healing, she brings empathy, presence, and a deep respect for the courage it takes to seek support. Lisa believes that the therapeutic relationship is central to meaningful change, and she strives to create a safe, collaborative space where clients feel seen and supported.
Her integrative approach draws from attachment theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), internal family systems (parts work), and intersubjective systems theory.
Outside of her work, Lisa enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. She loves being in nature—whether camping, fly fishing, or paddleboarding—and finds joy in slowing down to notice beauty in the world around her.
