About Kerri Hernandez, MA, LPC, ATR (She/Her)
Kerri earned her degree in Transpersonal Art Therapy from Naropa University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Registered Art Therapist, and EMDR-trained practitioner. Kerri takes a holistic approach to therapy, combining traditional counseling techniques with the transformative power of art therapy and the brain-based tools of neurotherapy to support clients in creating meaningful change. She has a particular passion for working with military service members and first responders, and specializes in grief, trauma, and PTSD.
Kerri is deeply committed to helping clients understand not only what they are experiencing, but what may be happening beneath the surface. Through creative expression and evidence-based intervention, she helps clients unlock deep-seated emotions, foster self-awareness, and move toward healing. Kerri believes therapy is a space to feel safe, be seen, and reconnect with parts of ourselves that trauma may have silenced, ultimately moving toward a greater sense of wholeness.
Outside of session, Kerri is usually working on a creative project or out in nature with her fiancée and their dogs, Watson and Fox. She's made it to 24 national parks so far, and the list keeps growing. Kerri finds that making art and being outdoors invites the same slowing down, noticing, and presence she hopes to cultivate with her clients.
